Job Title: Partnership Funding & Sponsorship Director

To provide overall leadership and supervision in planning and implementation of programs and sponsorship activities in the Local Rights Program in line with the Country Strategic Program and coordinate efforts to generate resources for the country program, strengthen relationships with donors and facilitate linkages between country program, international partnership development team, funding affiliates and ActionAid International secretariat to deliver on strategic objectives.



Key Responsibility Areas:

Lead the development and implementation of country program resource mobilization strategy in line with the country strategy, ActionAid International fundraising strategy, fundraising polices and institutional partnership Development strategy
Initiate, lead and coordinate donor intelligence and identification of new donors in line with fundraising policies and institutional partnership development strategy.
Develop and manage ActionAid International Uganda’s donor relations in line with fundraising policies and institutional partnership development strategy.
Lead and coordinate the process of development of proposals and concepts notes and ensure timely submission of quality proposals to donors.
Maintain oversight of donor funded projects and manage donor contracts in ActionAid Uganda in line with ActionAid strategy.
Lead and account for the delivery of ActionAid International Uganda’s sponsorship commitments and strategy in line with sponsorship policies, communication plan, Accountability, Planning and Learning Systems and ActionAid International fundraising strategy.
Supervise, motivate and appraise staff and build capacity of staff and partners in line with the Human Resource Policy and other organizational policies.
Contribute to strategic decision making through the Central Management Team and support to the board
Identify sponsorship and fundraising related knowledge needs for ActionAid International Uganda and its partners, coordinate the generation, storage and access to this knowledge in line with ActionAid International Uganda’ strategy

Person Specifications

A bachelor’s degree in Development studies or social sciences from a recognized institute. A relevant post graduate qualification is an added advantage. At least six years of relevant experience, of which three years must be at a senior position from a reputable organization.

Experience in resource mobilization and grants management is desirable.
