Job Title:LAND ACQUISITION OFFICER
[ii] Scope of the
position
The applicant is responsible for the assisting in the procurement of land and
other property required for the purposes of road or other infrastructure works
and for the payment of compensation.
[iii] Position
relationships
Reports to the Land Acquisition Specialist
[iv) Key duties &
responsibilities
1. To participate in the procurement of professional services for land
acquisition;
2. To participate in the review of feasibility study reports to ensure that
land and property issues have been adequately addressed;
3. To participate in dialogue with land and property owners to ensure that
road project developments are fully understood by affected persons;
4. To participate in the development of a check list for land, property and
compensation requirements;
5. To participate in the preparation of framework contract document for

the procurement of professional services on call down basis;
6. To participate in monitoring of progress of land acquisition process;
7. To assist in the resolution of disputes between the Authority, its
Consultants, Contractors and property owners;
8. To prepare regular and adhoc reports as required by the Land
Acquisition Specialist;
9. To handle all records on land acquisition to keep files in order and
record keeping of Maps and other materials;
10. To Follow-up on issues in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban
Development (Chief Government Valuer’s Office) and other
stakeholders in all areas of land acquisition;
11. To participate in follow-up of monitoring, valuation and compensation
exercises as and when required;
12. To carry out any other assigned work within the Institution.
[v] Person
specification
Applicants must be holders of a Degree in Land Use Management, Law,
Valuation or equivalent qualification plus at least three years of working
experience in the Road Sector related to land acquisition procedures. A
relevant post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
