Job Description
The Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABCEC) is a business association that brings together Contractors to further their mutual interests. It advocates and lobbies government on policy issues impacting on the National Construction Industry, and builds the capacity of its member organizations.
UNABCEC is currently recruiting for a , Policy, Research and Advocacy Officer the position based in Kampala.
Policy, Research and Advocacy Officer
S/he will report to executive secretary and will be responsible for conducting research in the construction industry that will be used as a basis for evidence based lobbying and advocacy, quality assurance and provision of professional and technical advice at the different levels
Key Responsibilities
a) Undertake regular research related to Cl to inform advocacy activities for UNABCEC
b) Spearhead the development and coordinate the implementation of UNABCEC advocacy strategy
c) Develop systems, approaches and methods for documentation management of information and knowledge generated from member organizations and support the access by all key stakeholders
d) Carry out brand management, quality control and coordination for all communications such as publications-newsletfers policy briefs, etc and responsible for updating and uploading information on the UNABCEC website and newsletters
e) Developing the membership recruitment and retention plan, maintaining and updating membership management system
f) Write and follow up proposals and funding requests for lobbying and advocacy activities
Requirements
• A degree in social sciences, mass communication, marketing or statistics from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience related to job requirements
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
