Job Title: Translator
Reports to: Design House Supervisor

Description of the purpose:
To translate and design adverts to increase, maintain and satisfy advertisers’ needs and readership. Proofread and edit into the respective paper languages

Key Result Areas
•    Translate adverts and supplements running in Orumuri and other translation jobs to capture the attention of Runyakitara speaking communities
•    Typeset,  design and lay out adverts and supplements for Orumuri and the New Vision; to ensure that eye catching adverts run in the papers
•    Proofread & edit adverts and supplements to ensure proper orthography

Qualifications & Experience
•    Professional training in languages at degree level with a bias in Runyakitara
•    Knowledge of the cultural values, and able to write and speak 4Rs ie Runyankole/Rukiga/Rutooro/Runyoro
•    Computer Proficiency in design, photoshop, adobe illustrator, and Microsoft office packages
