 Job Title: STATISTICIAN - TRADE STATISTICS (1)

Reports to: Senior Statistician
Duties and Responsibilities;
1. To collect, compile and analyze External Trade data from different organizations in
line with the Bureau mission.
2. To maintain the Informal Cross-Border Trade (ICBT) database.
3. To participate in regional harmonization of trade statistics
4. To prepare and write quarterly reports for the Trade Statistics Unit.
5. Interview respondents and administer the planned surveys and censuses
questionnaires.

Minimum Requirements:
 At least an Honours Degree in B.Statistics, BSc. Economics with Statistics,
Quantitative Economics or Business Statistics
 Working experience in compiling trade and other economic statistics from a
reputable organization will be an added advantage;
 Clear understanding of the principles of sample survey design and data collection
methods in economic statistics;
 Knowledge of data sources for trade statistics;
 Sound Knowledge and appreciation of statistical techniques including their
application;
 Working experience with relevant statistical data processing programmes (SPSS,
SAS and/or STATA, EXCEL);
 Good inter-personal and communication skills.
