Public Relations Officer Job Vacancy at Uganda Industrial Research Institute

 JOB TITLE: PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER:  (1 POSITION)

Reporting to the Communications & Marketing Manager, the position holder will help to generate a favourable brand image for the institute as well as ensuring that objectives are achieved in line with the institute’s mandate.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in planning, developing and Implementing the PR strategy and internal communications.

• Writing and editing in-house magazines, publicity brochures, case studies, information for web sites, articles and reports

• Update, maintain and manage the institute’s website in collaboration with the communications and marketing manager.

• Liaising with media people, stakeholders, vendors, and other partners.

• Support internal staff and help the marketing team design innovative communications and marketing strategies.

• Organising promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits

Qualifications and skills required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication with a minimum experience of 3 years in media and public relations. Superior written and verbal communication skills, Ability to think out of the box, a self-starter, Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to details and handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
