Job Title: Senior Officer, Non Formal Vocational Education – Livelihoods for Youth Initiative for Employment and Sustainable Livelihood and Development (YIELD) (01 position)

Duty Station; Gulu – Northern Region

Job Purpose:

Reporting to Project Specialist- YIELD will take the lead in the implementation of the Non formal vocational education component of the YIELD project in the Northern region and will be responsible for achievement of program goals and objectives and for reporting on program implementation and outcomes.

In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for working with the whole project team. This will include overseeing effective implementation of planned objectives for the YEILD project, the provision of technical guidance to on-going activities and participate in fundraising efforts and proposal reviews.

The Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;

• A minimum of a Degree in education or a relevant discipline. Graduate or postgraduate training in project planning & management, monitoring and evaluation, community development & research or related field is an added advantage

• A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience with at least 1 year at middle management level in an NGO. Experience working with vulnerable youth and communities in implementing Non formal and vocational education programs

• Strong documentation, advocacy, facilitation and presentation skills

• Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.

• Willingness to travel and work in hard-to reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.

• Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.

• Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.

• Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

• Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching

• Excellent time management and planning capacity
