Nurture Africa (NA) (Formally A-Z Children’s Charity Uganda) Ref: S.5914/6521 currently) is a Non-Governmental Organisation operating in Wakiso and Mubende Districts. NA is committed to contribute towards the health and development of the most vulnerable children in its areas of operation through high quality education, health care, Children’s rights and Sustainable livelihood programs enabling them to become positive influences in Ugandan society. NA primarily targets HIV infected and affected orphans and vulnerable children and works with their families holistically in order for sustainable change to occur. Title: Community Projects Coordinator

Supervisor: Operations Manager

Job’s overall purpose: Provide technical guidance, support and overall coordination to Project Officers regarding project management

Major duties and responsibilities

    Assist Project Officers in the development of annual work plans and budgets.
    Ensure that NA project staffs implement project interventions as per approved annual work plans and budgets.
    Ensure that NA Wakiso projects are implemented concurrently with Mubende projects.
    Ensure that for any project intervention, meetings are held with all stakeholders and action plans developed relevant to the intervention.
    Assist NA collaborating CSO partners to develop work plans and budgets in line with NA projects and annual targets.
    Provide supervision to NA collaborating CSO partners and ensure that they contribute to NA monthly project targets.
    Ensure that Project Officers submit their weekly reports and plans every Monday before any new interventions are implemented
    Attend departmental and any other committee meetings to advise project staff on issues related to project planning and implementation
    Ensure that project monthly reports are in line with the established quality standards, contain monthly activities conducted and are submitted before deadlines
    Ensure that cash requisitions presented by Project Officers are in line with monthly targets and budgets and considerate of cost minimization
    Mediate conflicts related to project implementing staff and ensure that projects are implemented harmoniously with the involvement of both Project Heads and their Assistants
    Collaborate with NA Senior Management staff to write competitive grant proposals for funding NA projects.

Requirement:

    Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Social Administration/Social Sciences/ Development Studies.
    Post graduate training in Project Management is a MUST Skills and experience.
    At least 4 years' experience in Project Coordination.
    Computer application skills including Ms Word and Ms Excel.
    Proposal writing skills is added advantage.
    Motorcycle riding skills if possible with a permit.
