The  Makerere  University  Walter  Reed  Project  (MUWRP) is a non-governmental , non-profit  HIV research program  that was established  in 2002  as a result of a  memorandum of understanding   between  Makerere  University
Essential Duties
•    Participate in  study  planning  which includes  travelling  to potential  hospital  sites  , protocol and  SOP writing.
•    Oversee  daily operation  of proposed research  in preparation  phase involving  bimonthly  site visits  and coordination with  study partiners .
•    Develop  and implement  objectives , action plans , budgets , refinements  and  initiatives as   planned  or  assigned  by the  ACESO  Uganda  Country  Director  and MUWRP Head  of  Research and  Scientific  Affairs
Qualifications
•    Degree  in Medicine  (MD, MBChB  or  equivalent)  and public  Health  (MPH  or equivalent )
•    Project  implementation , administration , financial  operations  , clinical management  of severely ill hospitalized patients , basic data  analysis , grant writing  and  manuscript publication.
•    Experience  of at least  3 years conducting  research in Uganda  with international  partiners  involving  patients with severe  sepsis will be an added advantage .
Skills
•    Fluency in  verbal  and written  English  and Luganda .
•    Highly organized , detail oriented  and self –motivated.
•    Ability to handle  multiple  tasks  simultaneously.
•    Good interpersonal  and communication skills
