Job Title: Operations Management Trainee – National Distribution Services- Grade GZ

Operations Management Trainee – National Distribution Services- Grade GZ

Purpose of Position

The Trainee will be responsible for the overall management of the efficiency of the depots and primary distribution fleet in terms of staff management, vehicle utilization, cost efficiencies, image, maintenance, service delivery, health & safety, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

    Execution of daily load plan.
    Ensure maximum vehicle utilization of all Primary and Secondary distribution vehicles.
    Ensure minimum TAT (turnaround time) at plant and depots.
    Corporate image, ensure truck and trailers are clean, and comply with all relevant Health & Safety legislation.
    Manage resources, including permanent and temporary staff, to ensure that productivity goals are met and costs controlled.
    To control Expenditure to budget (Day to Day Controls and Monthly.
    Measure the performance on a daily/ weekly & monthly basis against targets, (fuel consumption etc).
    Respond to emergency , arrange technical assistance or asset recovery
    Liaise with Plant Warehouse in terms of vehicle availability (planned maintenance etc).

Requirement:

    Degree in Statistics, Economics or its equivalent
    Basic Understanding of Fleet management
    Basic Understanding of Uganda road legislation
    Basic Understanding of Route management r Basic Technical knowledge
    Good Geographic knowledge
    Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
