The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations front-line agency against world hunger It is the largest and longest serving humanitarian agency in Uganda Currently WFP focuses on three priority areas namely, Emergency Humanitarian Action (EHA); Food & Nutrition Security (FNS); and Purchase for Progress (P4P)(Agriculture & Market Support (AMS), WFP has operations in various parts of the Country. Post Title:  Programme Officer (Food & Nutrition Security)

Grade: NOA

Contract Type: Service Contract

Duty Station: Kampala

Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Coordinator, the incumbent will be required to undertake the following;-

Dutles and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for programme management as part of the Food & Nutrition Security sub unit;
    Provide continuous support to the sub offices for the implementation and monitoring of activities at all targeted sites in Karamonja; ensuring communication with government and Non Government Organisations (NGO) counterparts, Responsible for the review of call forwards for commodities from the sub office;
    Timely release of food requirements for the targeted project sites in Karamonja;
    Responsible for financial record management of the second Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF2) project which includes the follow-up with implementing partner finance staff on the timely submission of financial records. management of the –FLA databases does internal tracking of financial invoices.
    Responsible for narrative record management of the NUUSAF2 (WPF) project which includes the follow up with implementing partner field programme staff on the timely submission of project output records and narrative reports, filling records, collaboration with Assessment Monitoring & Evaluation (AME)/ Programme Management Information System (PROMIS) on the management of the outputs database, internal tracking of output records versus sub office monitoring records;
    Responsible for making Other Direct Operating Cost (ODOC) implementing partners on the basis of reconciled list of beneficiaries;
    Tracking of work plans and periods of food deliveries/cash transfers of sub projects;
    Participate in the quarterly desk audit of partners;
    Support to the development of the Cash Transfer Modality under the Country Programme;

Requirement:

    University degree, in economics, agriculture, international affairs, business administration, social sciences, development studies or a field relevant to international development assistance from a recognised institution;
    At least six (6) years post graduate relevant working experience in development projects and/or emergency assistance gained from reputable organizations.
    Previous management experience is necessary
    Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential;
    Knowledge of Project planning and management is desirable;
    Good working knowledge and experience using MS Office applications is a must.
