Job Title: Program Officer –Community Liaison (ACP)
Reports to: senior health educator (IEC/BCC)
Job purpose: to develop and guide implementation of strategies for community mobilization and strengthen the capacity of districts and implementing partners to implement community HIV and AIDS interventions including eMTCT
Key functions:
Coordinating and provide technical leadership in the development and review od an integrated strategy for community mobilization and engagement for the various HIV and AIDS intervations
Building capacity of national stakeholders, districts and implementing partners on community mobilization for HIV and AIDS including eMTCT
Developing and participate in the monitoring and evaluation of community interventions as an integral part of the health sector M$E frame work
Working with other stakeholders to design and implement strategies for involving of cultural and religious institutions, the private sectors and other civic leaders
Participating in operational research
Preparing and submit periodic performance reports to the relevant authorities
Qualifications:
Must possess a bachelors degree in social sciences or any other related field from a recognized university
Must possess a masters degree social sciences public health or Epidemiology from a recognized university
Training in community participatory methods would be an added advantage
Experience:
Must have at least 3 yEars relevant working experience in community collaboration and partnership development at national or regional level in health field especially HIV and AIDS
Competence:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the national HIV and AIDS programme
Demonstrated competence in networking and community mobilization
Team building, result oriented with high level of advocacy and negotiation skills
Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, writing and communication
