ANIMAL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN Vacancy (1 position)

Job Title: ANIMAL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
Salary Scale: UR 6
Nature of employment: Contract

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Attending to livestock and undertake activities such as feeding, spraying, vaccinations, deworming, dehorning, castration, tagging .artificial insemination, Disease diagnosis and treatment, weighing, milking and general maintenance of the paddocks.
• Prepares animal feeds and ensure right quality and quantity of feed is given to animals.
• Maintain, monitor and observe livestock experiments, recording production and test data for evaluation as well as interpreting and implementing quality assurance standards.
• Providing input on the development of the annual budget, especially item and cost specifications.
• Providing input in the design and construction of facilities for undertaking experiments,
• Analysing experimental data, interpret results and writing reports and summaries of findings.
• Work hand in hand and assist Farm Manager on livestock production matters.
• Carry out any other assignment as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess a good Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Animal Production and at least two (2years relevant experience],
Tenure of Office: Four years contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
Age: Candidates should not be above 45 years
