Drought Preparedness Consortium Coordinator Job (1 position)

Key qualifications / Experience:
* University degree in the field of Food Security / Livelihood / Natural Resources Management and/or Disaster Risk Reduction.
* Proven experience and direct involvement in the implementation
* At least 5 years of direct experience in some other fields relevant for this project, in particular: Drought Preparedness, EWS, pastoral issues, water (water harvesting), nature resources and rage-land management.
* Proven and successful experience in managing ECHO or EU; funded project(s).
* Confirmed experience in mainstreaming gender equality and a rights-based approach. Sol id experience with national level advocacy and alliance building to work with a partner based approach.
* Computer literate, including Excel
*Holder of a valid driving license
*Fluent command of verbal and written English

Basic about the project and position;
Project period: July 2010-31 October 2011 (contract for the posi­tion ending 31st December 2011)
Implementing partners: ACTED, C and D and SSD (Caritas).
Geographical area: Karamoja (Abim, Nakapiripirit, Moroto Amudat, Kaabong, Kotido, Napak) and North Pokot (Kenya). Total budget EUR 1.2 Mio.
Duty stations: Moroto (70%) and Kampala (30%). Non family posting. Since it's a regional project all nationalities arc encouraged to apply but employment contract is on Local Employment Conditions.
