Job Title : Principal Internal Auditor
Salary Scale : U2
Reports to : District Council
Age limit : 31 years and above

Duties:
* Inspect/Examine District accounts records to ensure adherence to financial and accounting rules and regulations.
* Verifying and validating payments before they are made.
* Auditing revenue collections, outward payments and procurement procedures of goods services.
*Guiding accounting staff on proper financial procedures and regulations.
* Carry out special investigations requested by the CAO, PAC RDC etc.
* Advising Council on matters of financial accountability.
* Preparing statutory audit reports and submitting them to the relevant authorities.
* Detecting fraud, omissions and commissions in the District accounting system.

Person Specifications:
* Bachelor's degree with a bias in Accounting or an equivalent qualification plus a Post graduate qualification in auditing.
* Working experience of at least 6 years in accounting, preferably in a public institution.
* Should have extensive knowledge of public financial systems, procedures and regulations.
* Well developed interpersonal and public relations skills
