Job Title: Assistant Training Manager

The Peace Corps is an agency of the United States Government, which sends American Volunteer development workers to assist in capacity building and technical assistance activities in over 70 countries worldwide. Basic Function
This position provides support to the Training Manager in all aspects of Peace Corps Uganda training. The functions include assisting in the following: monitoring training functions for trainee and Volunteer groups; assisting with the coordination, development and implementation of each training event cycle; supporting and monitoring the safety and security of trainees/Volunteers; and serving as a liaison between Peace Corps and ministries and agencies engaged in community development.

Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in a field of study relevant for training and adult education; excellent computer skills including word processing, Photo shop (or equivalent), PowerPoint and spreadsheet programs; excellent command of English, both spoken and written; native ability in spoken and written at least one Ugandan language; ability to work independently with little supervision; good organization and time management skills; willingness to take the initiative; excellent teamwork skills, strong service attitude; personal integrity; strong cross-cultural skills; strong interpersonal skills, strong interest in Uganda’s development; and ability to travel extensively.
At least five years experience of related work with relevant government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, or private businesses. Ability to work on weekends when necessary.
Preferred qualifications: cross cultural training experience; ability to train trainers; study and/or experience in economic development, community health or teaching or teacher training.

Oversee all in service trainings, Mid Service and Close of Service Conferences 50%
Pre-service Training 15%
Monitoring and Reporting 10%
Volunteer support 15%
Other duties and activities 10%
