Job Title: Programme Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities,
* Ensure effective coordination of the preparation, planning, fundraising and implementation of PFCC projects/ programmes.
* .Strengthen inter-agency coordination, working with relevant parliamentary committees.
* Establishing effective mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating PFCC programmes and follow up on key areas of application commitments in collaboration with PFCC Executive, parliamentary Committees and civil society.
* Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and management, focusing on achievement of PFCC results.
* Organize dialogue meetings with key partners to articulate clear advocacy and comrnunication interventions that are in line with PFCC goals and objectives.
* Explore and recommend strategies for partnerships, institutional linkages with line ministries, civil society groups, local governments, media, academia, etc.
* Identify strengths and weaknesses in programme implementation and providing innovative solutions on adjusting strategies and implementation.
* Ensure the timely submission of reports.
* Draft and/or produce catchy information materials such as video reports, photo documentation, statements, policy briefs, newsletter production and represent PFCC on several other working groups on Climate Change and carry out tasks as appropriate on behalf of the Executive Committee.
* Act as Secretary to PFCC Executive Committee.

Qualifications and Personal Specification
* Advanced (Masters) Degree or equivalent in Environment and Natural Resources, Climate Change, Social Sciences, Political Sciences or related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
* Knowledge of programme management and advocacy
Detailed knowledge of the set-up and functioning of government institutions with extended knowledge on parliamentary oversights.
* Developed understanding of and commitment to environment and climate change.
* Knowledge and experience of NGO structures and culture.
* Ability to represent PFCC nationally, regionally and internationally.
* Ability to build and maintain partnerships with wide array of groups, including development partners and government institutions/representatives.
* Have strategic vision, strong technical and analytical capacities, and sound judgement.

Other Competencies:
* Able to build trust and engenders morale by displaying open, transparent and credible behaviour.
* Provides and responds constructively to feedback.
*Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills with the ability to conceptualise and articulate issues ' related to environment, climate change and governance.
* Excellent skills in the use of office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.

Contract: The assignment will be 8 months beginning January 2011.
