Job Title: Programme Officer- Monitoring and Evaluation

Reports to: The Deputy Secretary General

Duration: 3 yrs renewable



Main purpose of the position:

• Conduct surveys in areas of NCC objectives and goals to facilitate decision making in the areas of Child Survival, Development, Protection and Participation.

• Monitoring and evaluation of Child Survival, Development, Protection and Participation activities.



Key outputs:

• Review reports on the status of implementation and obstacles to implementation of NCC policies, programmes and activities.

• Advise on proper course of action to overcome implementation obstacles to the NCC activities.



Key functions and activities:

• In liaison with Programme Officer, Research, Planning and Policy, collect, analyze and disseminate information and data about children to relevant organizations for use in sector planning and implementation of programmes and projects and other activities.



• Monitor, assess and evaluate performance of activities and other initiatives undertaken by agencies to define opportunities, impact and adherence to objectives and goals of the Council.



Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Development Economics or related fields

• Post-graduate qualification in the field of Economic Planning, Statistics and Development Planning.



Experience:

Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years practical experience in monitoring and evaluation of activities/programmes in a national or international organization.

In addition the candidate should have;

• Analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to develop, monitoring and evaluation indicators related to child survival, development, protection and participation.

• Working experience in coordination, monitoring and evaluation of big programmes/projects

• Working experience related to implementation of child related activities and proposal writing skills
