Position: Manager Grants and Contracts (MGC)
Reports to: Senior Manager Grants and Contracts (SMGC)
Classification: Fixed-term (contract), full lime

General Summary:
The Manager Grants and Contracts (MGC) will support the internal management of funded projects by monitoring and reporting financial and programmatic performance, will monitor financial activity and external reporting, and will ensure compliance to individual sponsor requirements. The MGC reports to, and is evaluated by, the Senior Management Grants and Contracts.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business or Commerce; Masters Degree an added advantage
• At least three years experience in relevant activities including relating to funding agencies, reporting, and / or grants management

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
• Project planning and management.
• Good understanding of budget preparation processes
• Excellent organization skills including ability to track / monitor multiple projects simultaneously
• Exceptional communication skills - both oral and written
• High proficiency in the use of office computers and spreadsheets

Responsibilities:
• Assist in responding to the various ad-hoc issues in post-contract management
• Assist in preparation of timely reports, as required - ensuring excellence in reporting content and format
• Provide support in tracking and reporting of financial performance of grants
• Together with MakCHS finance staff, extract information from financial management system as required; customize reporting format and frequency to meet individual project administrator's needs
• Develop and maintain a consistent hard copy / electronic filing structure and system for financial information ant) contracts related to grants
• Support the budget development process for new grants
• Document and maintain a record of all updates to the Grants Management Manual
• Support the Senior Manager (SMGC) in reviewing sub-grantee financial documentation and reporting to ensure compliance.
• Provide inputs relating to grants management for the MakCHS Key Performance Indicators (including the analysis of the gap between projected income and expenditure)
• Support the development and implementation of Grants Management training courses.
• Provide technical assistance in Grants Management to other organizations.
• Any other duties specified by the SMGC.
