Job Title: Senior Research Fellow/ Research Fellow.

Location: Kampala



Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Take a lead role in designing and conducting research projects identified by the department.

- Train and manage small research teams for conducting the research.

- Disseminate key findings of the research through a variety of research outputs, including reports and working papers, policy briefings and seminar series.



Qualifications / Requirements:

- A Master’s Degree (Research Fellow) or PhD (Senior Research Fellow) in the Social Sciences from a recognized university.

- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience (Senior Research Fellow) or 3 years experience (Research Fellow) in designing and conducting high-quality research projects in issues of poverty and social development, using qualitative research techniques such as focus groups, life histories, in-depth interviews etc.

Job Title: Research Assistant

Location: Kampala



Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Head Research and/or Senior Research Fellows, to conduct fieldwork across multiple sites in Uganda, using a variety of qualitative research techniques.

- Discuss and brainstorm with the research team on key issues emerging.

- Enter data collected in the relevant format.

- Participate in training provided within the department.





Qualifications / Requirements:

- Undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences. Students currently undertaking a Master degree are encouraged to apply, and may be eligible to work on a part-time basis.

- Must have fieldwork experience in quantitative research techniques such as focus group discussions, life histories and in-depth interviews

- Willing to travel regularly for fieldwork.

- Good interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently, but also work as part of a team.

- Must be a Ugandan national. The ability to speak different languages is viewed favorably.

Job Title: Marketing Manager.

Location: Kampala



Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Managing marketing personnel involved both in the field or other programs in relation to procurement and production.

- Handling all correspondence from the field and other programs and coordinate necessary dispatching or required materials.

- Collecting periodic field activity reports and to ensure that those data are well processed and target vs. achievement is accomplished.

- Maintain and take good care of stock records for all inputs procured or distributed to agriculture or any other program.

- Establish links and collaboration with Government Institutions and Ministries involved in the Agriculture sector.



Qualifications / Requirements:

- Bachelor’s of Business Administration majorly in Marketing.

Job Title: Branch Manager (Females only)

Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Overall supervisor of staffs and follow up of their activities.

- Carry out regular field visits and monitor progress.

- Monitor time and attendance of staffs in the branch.

- Maintain cash books, bill vouchers, and monthly account of the branch.

- Carry out loan appraisal, disburse and realize loans.

- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and submit the report to the Area Manager.

- Maintain the program related documents, reports, target plans, budget, and other related documents.

Job Title: Credit Officer (Females only)

Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Survey and sensitize the communities about the microfinance packages and offers.

- Organize the registered members into small groups.

- Regulate the activities of the group members.

- Issue out loans and ensure the pay back of loan installments.

- Carry out regular field visit, conduct group meetings and assess potential borrowers.

- Prepare weekly/monthly report on the activities and submit it to the Branch Manager.



Qualifications / Requirements:

- Diploma in Business Administration / Accountancy / Economics / Statistics / Development Studies from a recognized institution.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to coordinate work with the community.

- Age must be within 30 years of age.







Job Title: Branch Accountant (Females only)

Location: Any part of Uganda.



Principal Duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure that cash collections for the day are properly receipted and banked before the close of a day.

- Receiving of bankers’ cheques, recording financial transactions, counting money to verify amounts and issuing receipts for funds received in particular period.

- Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, senior accountants and the auditors / supervisors.

- Ensure proper maintenance of all fixed asset Resister and Stock Register at the branch.

- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expenses, invoices, and other accounting documents.

- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documents of business transactions.





Qualifications / Requirements:

- Diploma in Accounting and Finance.

- Computer literacy is a must especially Microsoft Office Applications.

- Ability to coordinate work with all the other staff, including the immediate supervisors.

- Strong communications skills.

- Must be within 30 years of age.
