Job Title: Senior Research Fellow/ Research Fellow.
Location: Kampala
Principal Duties and responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in designing and conducting research projects identified by the department.
- Train and manage small research teams for conducting the research.
- Disseminate key findings of the research through a variety of research outputs, including reports and working papers, policy briefings and seminar series.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree (Research Fellow) or PhD (Senior Research Fellow) in the Social Sciences from a recognized university.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience (Senior Research Fellow) or 3 years experience (Research Fellow) in designing and conducting high-quality research projects in issues of poverty and social development, using qualitative research techniques such as focus groups, life histories, in-depth interviews etc.
- Must be willing to travel within Uganda regularly for fieldwork.
- Good written and oral communication skills, shown in a track record of written publications and conference presentations.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to keep to tight deadlines.
