Job Title: Field Officers – Certification (Nakaseke, Luwero and Nakasongola Districts)

Main duties:
• Organize and oversee the implementation of the Utz code of conduct.
• Organize and ensure timely, efficient and effective delivery of Utz certification training at farmer group and farmer level.
• Training an monitoring of Utz internal inspectors.
• Liaise with the data officer and depot staff so as to ensure accurate farmer records for the respective areas.
• Carry our inter audits of depots, chemical stores, farms, etc.
• Prepare monthly internal audit reports and progress reports regarding the implementation of certification activities.
• Participate in the auditing of the Utz code of conduct and host the annual external audit for Utz certification.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the Utz quality manual.
• Participate constructively in the on-going development and promotion of the Uganda Coffee Farmers’ Alliance (UCFA).
• Collaboration with gender focal persons and ensuring equitable participation of men and women in all activities to the program and projects in particular the decision making process.

Requirements:
• Minimum of diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science and/or related qualification.
• Possession of a bachelor of science in related fields is preferred. Extensive knowledge of farmer organizations and group dynamics is essential.
• Thorough understanding of sustainable coffee production and familiarity with certification standards especially Utz certified as a must.
• Computer literacy especially with knowledge in MS Access, excel and Word.
• Highly self motivated and disciplined with good communication skills.
• Ability to ride a motor cycle with a valid riding license.
