Job Title: IT Technician


The position reports to the Head of Operations.
Job Purpose.
To ensure preventive maintenance and reduce on the down time of company computers and IT systems. The position is based at Head Office with frequent travel to upcountry branches.
Key outputs
• Computer hardware & software serviced & maintained.
• Software installed & upgraded on all company computers.
• Faulty computers, connections & nodes; workstations, servers, printers, modems & peripheral equipment repaired.
• Anti-virus installed on all computers.

Key Responsibilities.
• Develop key risk indicators and communicate them throughout the company.
• Analyze the company’s market position and running figures through complex modeling techniques to find value at risk (VAR) measurements.
• Participate in the generation of management strategies, based on risk and profitability models to support the company in the achievement of its objective.
• Use segmentation tools based on profitability and risk, protect the organization’s assets and public image as well as conduct research to assess the severity of risk.
• Support the business in the identification risks related to the business.
• Ensure that risk areas are properly dealt with to acceptable levels through liaising with the different Heads of department.
• Control risk related losses through the proper allocation of resources using segmentation tools to guide proactive collection efforts.
• Support the implementation of performance analytic tools in agreement with the Bank of Uganda guidelines and CAMEL ratings.
• Train staff on risk measures for the benefit of the staff in their daily scope of work.
• Monitoring the implementation of the risk management efforts.
• Ensure the key control dairies from all the branches are filled and submitted to risk department on a monthly basis.
• Coordinate research and write working papers for discussion on any subject that may be of interest to UFT.
• Undertake any other assignment as may be assigned by the supervisor.


Job requirement

Minimum qualification requirements and competencies:
• A Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Statistics or any other related discipline from a recognized university.
• Two (2) years experience in risk management gained from a financial institution.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to transfer knowledge and provide guidance to others.
• Ability to work long hours without supervision.
• Knowledge of Risk analysis systems is an added advantage.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills.
