Job Title: AGENT NETWORK MANAGER (ANM)
This position is a key ingredient in promoting the success of MobiCash throughout the country. The Agency Network Manager is responsible for liaising with all mobile money agents (and regional agency managers) throughout the country to the company’s targets and policies. The aim of the agent network manager is to maximize profit whilst minimizing costs in the distribution system of MobiCash. He/she is charged with ensuring promotions are accurate and linked with MobiCash’s company’s standards, and all agents are fully versed on the target for the day and excellent customer care standards are met.
As part of its Strategy 2011/12, MobiCash has established strong relationships with agents in regions across Uganda through whom we shall deliver our services, leading to substantial volume developments on the cash point trade lanes. This role will support the business development division in monitoring, strengthening and developing these relationships further.
You are someone who is experienced in conducting review meetings, facilitate business operations between the MobiCash network and the mobile money agency network and strong in problem solving. You enjoy the challenge of a role with room for autonomy and decision making for the administration of the agency network and you thrive on driving relationship and business development at management level.
The role is Kampala based but requires extensive travel in and around the greater country of Uganda and command of numerous languages is a pre-requisite.
Overall duties
• Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency;
• Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control;
• Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits;
• Analysing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning;
• Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning;
• Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met;
• Responding to customer complaints and comments;
• Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues;
• Touring the regional agents regularly, talking to agents and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues;
• Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing;
• Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market;
• Preparing sales linkages and dealing with sales, as and when required.
Your profile
To be successful in this position you must have a track record in FMCG business relationships, knowledge of banking and account management for a commercial entity, project management, planning, multi tasking and data analysis and formulating sales and networking strategies. You will have some exposure in working at senior levels within a related business and you are a skillful communicator.
Personal qualities, skills and experience:
Typically a candidate for the role will hold a related university degree and is most likely to be expected to be able to demonstrate progress and achievement in their career to date. Most recently, they will have worked in a commercial role within a similar business for a minimum of 5 years.
You must be a confident negotiator with the ability to ‘close the deal’ with hands on problem-solving experience, with the ability to generate ideas and practical solutions. You will have a positive and determined approach to analyzing new business opportunities; Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritize tasks; Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation; Excellent organizational and time management skills; the candidate must possess excellent needs analysis skills, A positive attitude to dealing with people, and be capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
Fluency in written and oral English is a pre-requisite, and all responses should be submitted in English. A clear highlight of Swahili language, all local and international languages spoken and written should also be included.
