Job Title: Academic Registrar
Reporting to: Vice Chancellor/ Deputy Vice Chancellor
Deputy Station: Main Campus Masaka
Main Function:
Responsible for achievement of academic excellence through development and implementation of academic programs in accordance to the university's acceptable standards.
Accountability Profile:
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordination of curriculum development of all academic programs, courses and research carried out in the university
- Ensuring that students admitted have required qualifications for the courses they intend to pursue
- Implementing all academic policies and procedures approved by the council in accordance to set standards
- Ensuring safe custody of data relating to admissions progress and examinations
- Overseeing the preparation of the time tables for lectures at all faculties
- Ensuring timely setting of examinations and their proper conduct
- Arranging for external examiners
- Arranging for admissions and graduation ceremonies
- Liaising with the Human resources department for recruitments, promotions, development and appraisal of academic staff.
- A masters degree in Education Management or Curriculum Development.
- Should have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Should be of unquestionable integrity
- Should show proven experience in a similar job in a reputable institution.
