JOB TITLE:        Administrative Assistant/Travel RepresentativeOPENING AND CLOSING DATES: September 5-19, 2011

         
POSITION LOCATION:  USAID, EXO Office

HOURS OF WORK:   40 hours per week

POSITION GRADE:   FSN-7  (Ugshs. 26,274,375 to 37,902,046 p.a. inclusive of allowances).

USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Administrative Assistant/Travel Representative.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Serves as a Travel Representative/Administrative Assistant to Supervisory Executive Officer (EXO).  Handles a variety of administrative requirements of the Executive Office.  Makes travel arrangements for Mission personnel and temporary accommodation for official visitors and VIPs.
       
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1.  Education Required: A University degree in secretarial studies, administration, or related field is required.  

2.  Work Experience:  Four years of progressively responsible experience in travel field, administrative work, or other experience closely related to the field is required.
3.   Language Requirement:  Level IV (fluent) English proficiency written and oral communication skills is required.
4.   Knowledge:  Good understanding of office and administrative procedures is required.

5.  Skills and Abilities:  Must possess strong interpersonal and organization skills. Must have a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and persistence for effectiveness.  Computer literacy in word processing using Microsoft and spreadsheets is required.
