The Position:
The Public Health Specialist will be reporting to the team leader of the respective unit. The successful applicant will perform the following duties

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Districts and Town Councils in developing realistic annual and quarterly work plans and budgets in line with the national plans, strategies and sector guidelines/ schedules too local governments.
• Assist local governments to generate and maintain a data base of existing and new sanitation facilities, hand washing facilities etc
• Promote participatory and Monitoring and Evaluation in the Water and Sanitation Sector at all levels and advise on the implementation of national policies, guidelines and strategies and plans for sanitation and hygiene education

Professional qualifications required:
• An honors Degree/ postgraduate qualification in public Health, Environmental Health Science, Environment Health Education, Community Health.
• A minimum of six years of professional experience in sanitation and hygiene promotion
• Significant experience in implementation of projects with local governments and a good understanding of the local Government Regulations are essential.
