The Position: The water and sanitation Specialist shall report to the Team Leader. The successful applicants shall perform the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the districts and town Councils in developing realistic annual and quarterly work plans in line with national investment plans and strategies in relation to the water supply and water resources activities.
• Assist local governments to generate and maintain baseline data and management information system
• Promote participatory monitoring and evaluation in the water and sanitation sector at all levels and advise on the implementation of national policies, guidelines and strategies and plans for urban water supply and sanitation, water for production and water for resources

Person Qualifications required:
• An honors degree in civil engineering, water engineering. A post graduate diploma or masters degree in a water related field will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience 3 of which should be in a Water and Sanitation sector
• Significant experience in implementation of projects with local governments and a good understanding of the Local Government regulations are essential.
