Job Title: Head of Programs
Reports to: Executive Director

Job Purpose:
To provide strategic and technical leadership in program research and development, communication, implementation, monitoring and evaluation

Main Accountabilities:
• To ensure that the department effectively contributes to the achievement of the organization’s overall strategy through effective planning and management
• To ensure the development of appropriate programs by conducting adequate research
• To establish the effectiveness and efficiency performance of AmwA’s programs by conducting monitoring and evaluation interventions
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Master’s degree in either development management, Human Rights or Gender Studies
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years related work experience in progressive positions either in women rights, human rights, advocacy or development studies

Knowledge and Skills:
• Regional and global understanding of women’s social, political, culture and economic issues
• Ability to write funding reports
• Ability to develop budgets
• People management skills
• Project planning and management skills
