CEDOVIP seeks a full time Assistant Director to support the Executive Director in the implementation of CEDOVIP’s strategic plan and to provide leadership to the program and administration staff. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated commitment to promote women’s rights. S/he will be committed to getting results in a fast paced environment. The position will be based in Kampala and report to the ED.

CEDOVIP is a local NGO that works to prevent violence against women in Uganda. We work with women, men, government institutions, policy makers, civil society and the media.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the following:
• Provide day to day leadership and direction for staff.
• Mentor and guide staff in planning, implementation, documentation and monitoring of activities.
• Contribute to the development of strategic directions for CEDOVIP programming.
• Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial reporting.
• Serve as a member of the organization’s leadership team.
• Represent CEDOVIP in national and international events.
• Foster and sustain a positive, innovative, results-oriented work environment.
• Other duties as requested by the Executive Director.

Qualifications
• At least 7 years relevant work experience in violence against women prevention with at least 3 years in management.
• Excellent writing and computer skills.
• MA degree or relevant experience.
• Proven commitment to VAW prevention work.
