Job Title: GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM OFFICER (3 VACANCIES) REF. DSC 15/70/02 SALARY SCALE UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE KCCA 7 AGE 25 AND ABOVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE Applicants should be Ugandans holding an honor’s Degree in Geo-informatics and informatics or Land Surveying or Land Management or Urban Planning or any other closely related course plus a minimum of a certificate in any of the following; remote sensing, GPS systems and GIS, cartography and mapping from a recognized University/awarding institution Possession of postgraduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized/awarding institution will be an added advantage. Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience gained at officer level in Government or equivalent level of relevant experience from a reputable organization. He/she should have the following Key competences: Proven integrity and confidentiality, oral and written communication, working as part of a team, good interpersonal relations, PSC EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 4/2012 19 Ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks DUTIES:- The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor GIS for performing the following duties:- ? Carrying out spatial data collection, capturing, analyzing and storing of the Spatial information. ? Designing a spatial database of Kampala and providing backstop services to all stakeholders ? Developing spatial data collection tools for all KCCA projects and directorates. ? Monitoring space allocation, data placement and creating of a data dictionary. ? Liaising with relevant agencies to ensure effective implementation on government policies on spatial data infrastructure ? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time How to Apply: Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), during the third phase of the recruitment exercise.
