JOB PURPOSE
To ensure compliance of all departments with laid down policies and procedures of the Msente Department as well as all other Legal, BOU / UCC Regulatory and Statutory Requirements.
Applicants must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related field from a recognised university
A relevant professional qualification e.g. CIA, ACCA, CPA, CISA or equivalent
A minimum of 6 years Risk management experience in a large organisation , 3 of which should be in a management position
Membership to a relevant professional body e.g. IIA, ICPAU or equivalent
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure total Compliance with tariff guide
Review accounts / processes to ensure that UTL is not losing income.
Assess and monitor compliance with UTL’s M sente Policies and procedures
Certify compliance of all KYC regulatory, statutory, legal and internal policies
Ensure and monitor compliance of UTL Msente operations with regulatory, statutory and legal requirements
Liaise with Risk Management and Audit to ensure that any identified shortcomings are worked on and rectified immediately.
Assess and ensure compliance according to the UTL’s Financial Procedures and Policies
Prepare management reports on status of Msente risk and compliance on a monthly basis.
Monitor and prepare reports on authorization limits, arrears and suspicious transactions
Prepare the quarterly compliance reports for onward submission to the board
Form membership and provide input to the Risk Management committees of UTL.
Vet all new projects to ensure compliance in all aspects. (products / outlets / partners etc)
Conduct or deliver a risk and compliance training for staff
Snap check account opening documents to ensure complete documentation and compliance with KYC / UCC.
Sign off any / all KYC dispensations in account opening documentation and follow up.
Monitor compliance with account opening checklists, documentation and requirements
Monitor all functions for compliance with laid done processes and procedures
Liaise with Risk Management and Audit to ensure that the shortcomings are worked on and rectified
Conduct Agent Visits to ensure compliance at outlet level
Monitor all transaction above approved thresholds (big movers report) and any 1st time receipts.
Monitor all staff Msente transactions
Ensure compliance monitoring for Msente compliance and reporting breaches
Monitor and ensure dormant account reactivation is as per laid down procedures
Maintain a file and data for all compliance related matters, record of management and board committees on M sente risk and compliance issues.
