Job Title : Programme Officer (PO)
Democratic Accountability
The PO- Democratic Accountability will be responsible for the monitoring, coordination and implementation of the programmes by partner institutions in the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) (e.g. Police, Prisons, UHRC) and Electoral Commission. He/she is also in charge of identification of new ideas for improving access to justice and strengthening the capacity of the JLOS institutions, EC, and UHRC.
The PO is expected to work with partner institutions on a regular basis for the achievement of the programme objectives.
Qualifications
a) The post requires a degree in Law;
b) Post graduate training in Project Planning and Management and Human Rights would be an added advantage.
c) Proven team management and communication
Experience
a) At least five years experience, preferably in the Human Rights and Justice, Law and Order fields,
b) The post requires a thorough understanding of the political and governance institutions in Uganda;
c) Knowledge of the EOF procedures,
d) Experience in working with multi-sectoral institutions, and
e) Computer literacy is required.
