Job Description (Duties):
Job Purpose
To identify staff talent and achieve high professional standards of all employees through development and implementation of comprehensive and cost effective training and development solutions and to identify and develop staff talent pool to enable the Bank to grow a team of professional and performance oriented staff that are able to attain its business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiate and prepare an annual training calendar and budget, process training sponsorships, and keep track of the man days.
Conduct a skills analysis for all employees & design training Interventions.
Arrange internal training and development programmes as required to meet the identified needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes.
Liaise with Bank Funders to obtain grants to cover Training Budget.
Undertakes regular and periodical assessment of training needs and to develop a program to meet the identified needs.
Manage the performance management process and ensure that the exercise is conducted in a timely and effective. manner and that performance review outcomes are made use of to drive performance excellence within the Bank.
Implement the dfcu Bank strategy on talent management in collaboration with Line Managers with the primary focus of participating in the identification and development of HIPO staff and for Career Development.
Communication and Working Relationships:
Internal
Head of HR: - for consultation on policy implementation & HR initiated programs.
Bank’s Funders:- Obtaining Training Grants to Support Staff Development.
Staff and Line managers: To discuss training needs and to ensure that they are fully aware of the training opportunities available and to support Career Development Process.
All members of staff: Career counseling and capability assessments and performance consulting so that individuals realize their full potential.
External
Training Consultants HR Practitioners in the market.
Statutory Regulators.
Employer Associations.
Necessary Qualifications:
Degree level education preferably in Social Sciences or a business degree. A post graduate diploma in HRM will be an added advantage.
3 years of professional experience in Human Resource Management in a competitive business environment.
Basic Knowledge in banking is a must.
A sound knowledge of the principles of training and development as well as innovative training techniques and solutions.
Good understanding of the HR policies and procedures and ability to interpret them to employees.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills.
Good knowledge of the labour laws of Uganda.
