Job Title: Project Assistant, Integrated Water; Resource Management (IWRM)
Position Overview:
The project assistant will oversee project implementation, project planning/designing and expectations. The position holder will work closely with the existing structures at district, sub-county and village level as well as Global Water Initiatives partners in implementing the project; activities. Position will be based in Lira/Otuke and report the Global Water Initiatives Project Manager
Qualifications, Experience and Abilities required:
The suitable candidate will preferably have: qualifications including but not limited to: A degree: in any one of the following disciplines: agriculture, : forestry, environment science and natural resources management, and rural development together with: Proven experiences in developing systems : for coordinating activities concerning social mobilization, participatory watershed planning in the project water resources and natural resources planning/management or related field with at least 3 years experience of relevant working experience after graduation in watershed
• Experience in participatory rural appraisal (PRA)
• Group and adult facilitation skills and experience,
• Good report writing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills.
• Good knowledge and application of Microsoft word. Excel and Power Point.
• Strong understanding of organizational systems operations and development.
• Experience in project planning, management, and appraisal/evaluation.
• Minimum 2 years working for a non-governmental organization or a reputable
• Ability to enhance good interpersonal relationship, appreciation of diversity in the GWI partnership and ability Jo build trust in the Global Water Initiatives partnership.
• Experience with institutional strengthening and partnership building.
• Knowledge of Luo is an added advantage.
