Job Title: Water and Habitat Engineer (M/F)
Duty Stations: Kampala with regular field trips to Northern Uganda. Working hours: 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday
Remuneration: Attractive package depending on qualifications and working experience

Main responsibilities:
• Ensure that water, sanitation, hygiene promotion and construction objectives are respected and propose corrective measures when necessary;
• Assess needs, write reports and propose recommendations;
• Assess buildings for rehabilitation and prepare technical reports including technical drawings;
• Prepares and submits all necessary contractual documents to launch tender and ensures that contractual procedures are followed;
• Follow up of daily workers and local contractors;
• Maintain regular contact with Ugandan Red Cross Society, collaborate with and provides technical assistances to URCS in the implementation of activities;
• Liaise with other actors involved in the WASH sector and represent the ICRC in various meetings/gatherings.

Minimum required knowledge and experience:
• University degree in specialized relevant technical field (such as civil, water, sanitation, environmental, hydrology engineering);
• Familiarity with the standard technical norms and rules in construction and water supply;
• Five (5) years work experience in similar relevant civil engineering or water and sanitation field with good references; previous work with international organizations is an asset;
• Experience in community mobilization and hygiene promotion activities is an asset;
• Very good computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to run specific software (AutoCAD and basic CIS);
• Very good command of spoken and written technical English, other local language such as Ngkarimojong, Ateso or Luo will be an asset too.
