Zonal NAADS Coordinator Jobs Opportunites in Uganda

Job Title: Zonal NAADS Coordinator.
Remuneration: Attractive and Competitive.
Terms of employment: Three-year contract, renewable.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
• Function as the vote holder for joint NARO - NAADS activities at the zone and district levels;
• In consultation with the ZARDI Director and other stakeholders:
i take lead in setting up Multi Stakeholder innovation Platforms (MSIPs) for the zone and guide the demand articulation and priority setting process for technologies and innovations;
ii co constitute technical teams to participate in the districts planning and review processes
• Coordinate the consolidation of all districts' technology needs as input into the planning and priority setting process to; constitute the adaptive research agenda for the zone;
• Coordinate the provision of feedback and the adaptive research agenda for the zone to all districts and sub - counties;
• Working closely with NARO and NAADS Secretariats coordinate market studies in the zone to generate content and: provide input into the MS1P based zonal planning and priority; setting process;
• Coordinate capacity development needs identification of the key stake holders, and working with the districts in the zone and ZARDI scientists and other service providers coordinate capacity development of stakeholders in the zone;
• In consultation with NAADS and NARO Secretariat and the districts, coordinate the development of adaptive research annual work plans and budgets and implementation of the adaptive research agenda;
• Function as the first point of call for both the NAADS; Secretariat and districts, and consolidation of emerging NAADS implementation issues for transmission to the NAADS Secretariat;
• In liaison with the NAADS Secretariat coordinate monitoring of NAADS implementation in the districts in the zone;
• Coordinate the selection of regional enterprises and development of work plans and budgets for development of zone wide commodity value chains;
• Oversee the activities of the consultants being contracted to be in charge of Sustainable Land Management;
• Coordinate quality assurance of advisory services in the zone;
• Together with the ZARDI Director, make regular reports on joint activities in the region to the ZARDI Management Committee and NAADS and NARO Secretariats.

Qualification and experience
• A Masters degree in Agricultural sciences, Agricultural Economics or Natural Sciences.
• At least eight years experience of which five are in a management or similar position from the time of the advertisement,
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of rural development issues and poverty challenges
• Demonstrated experience in management of financial and human resources.
• Computer literacy is a must.
