APPOINTMENT ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBERS AND U.S. VETERANS, AS DEFINED BELOW OF U.S. GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ASSIGNED TO THE MISSION UNDER THE CHIEF OF MISSION AUTHORITY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION. 
"The American Embassy is seeking for an individual for the position of Assistant Facilities Manager in the FM Section."
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
This position serves as the Assistant Facilities Manager and oversees Post real property assets to ensure that they are maintained within acceptable US standards and in accordance with applicable policies, guidelines and regulations.  Provides program management and administrative support to the Facilities Maintenance Section.  Provides cleared American support to the section for access and control.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1.  Education required: At least two years full time post secondary studies at a college or university in business, science or liberal arts is required.
2.   Work Experience required:   Two years experience in maintenance, construction, program management, or administration involving customer contact or resources management is required.
3.    Language required:  Level 3 (good working knowledge) written and spoken English language skills is required.
4.  Knowledge required:  Basic knowledge of State Department and Foreign Service organization and policies.  Knowledge of facilities and facility requirements at an overseas State Department location such as an embassy or consulate is required.
6.  Skills and Abilities:  Standard level keyboard and computer skills to include specialized software, database management, spreadsheets, etc.  Must possess excellent written and oral skills in order to conduct training and drafting of materials and reports in the performance of duties.  Ability to coordinate, prioritize and oversee multiple projects.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to be flexible, resourceful, service-oriented, and self-motivated, and to work within the existing Mission structure is required.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1.  Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa status in determining successful candidacy.
2.  Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3.  Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4.   Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.
5.   Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
