"The American Embassy is seeking for an individual for the position of United States Students Achievers Program and Alumni Coordinator (USAP) in the Public Diplomacy Section."
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The USAP Coordinator guides student applicants in the USAP program through the process. S/he works with them to improve their application skills and increase their chances of gaining admission and financial aid from a quality U.S. college or university. S/he also supports the Cultural Affairs Specialist, DPAO and PAO in the development of the PAS exchange alumni association, supports involvement of exchange alumni in Mission activities, and involvement of PAS exchange alumni in global alumni activities including the Alumni website.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education required: The applicant must hold at least a B.A. or B.S. from a college or university in the United States.
2. Work Experience: Incumbent should have at least 2 years of post-graduate work experience in general office work, teaching or counseling is required.
3. Language Requirement: The incumbent must have at least 4/4 (fluent) English language reading and writing ability.
4. Knowledge: The incumbent should be familiar with the U.S. educational system in general, and with college admissions in particular is required.
5. Skills and Abilities: Excellent writing, research, interviewing and presentation skills are required. Ability to lead small groups of people and work one on one with clients is also required.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
