JOB TITLE : Medical Officer (2)
DUTY STATION : Nakivale & Kyaka II Refugee Settlements
REPORTS TO : Health & Nutrition Coordinator
DURATION : One year contract, renewable.
Terms of Reference:
Directly involved in the clinical running of the ART clinic and Health Centre in terms of patients consultations and ward round.
To supervise subordinate staff.
To act as the last line clinical consultation in case a judgment or action needs to be taken in any respective field. However, incase of proximity, the person you assign as your second in charge may step in.
To periodically evaluate the staff in your department.
To generally make sure the cleanliness of the health centre, its precincts and the ambulance are in accordance with the medical profession.
To periodically nourish your staff (Clinical Offi cers, midwives and nurses) with better or recent medical knowledge either through continuous Medical education (CMEs) or during ward rounds.
Essential Criteria:
Should possess a minimum of an MBCHB (Medical degree in Medicine & Surgery)
At least 1 year work experience post internship.
Registration with the medical and dental practitioners’ council
Experience in running an HIV clinic or having worked in an HIV environment is an added
advantage.
JOB TITLE : SGBV Field Officer (1)
DUTY STATION : Nakivale Refugee Settlement
REPORTS TO : Protection Coordinator
DURATION : One year contract, renewable
Terms of Reference:
Develop and implement programs which promote resilience and strengthen positive coping mechanisms within the community; establishment of peer networks, psychosocial support, and social integration; field visits to assess program quality, establish and monitor GBV referral system to provide assistance, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure follow-up on specific cases.
Ensure confidentiality and information management.
Carry-out awareness raising activities on GBV within the communities
Identify, document and follow up on GBV survivors
Monitor activities of community-based GBV networks, and provide capacity building and support to such networks.
Essential Criteria:
University degree in social sciences or other related field
A minimum of three (3) years experience in implementing protection programming, preferably with a focus on GBV.
Good experience in the area of implementing psychosocial projects ,community work with a participatory approach; designing and implementing training, working in conflict areas with a multi-ethnic team in a culturally in a culturally appropriate manner
Criteria to all candidates:
Should be ready to work in a refugee settlement and a multicultural environment showing respect for these various cultures.
Should be fluent in English, ability to speak / understand French, Swahili, Somali, Rwandese or other regional languages is an added advantage.
Computer proficiency is an added advantage.
Should have a strong sense for integrity, self motivation, good communication, interpersonal and reporting skills and is able to work with a team.
