Job Title: Principal Internal Auditor
Reports: Chief Manager/Manager, Internal Audit

Role: Conduct departmental and branch audit assignments in accordance with the annual
Audit Plan and Audit manual. Train and develop supervisees

Key Result Areas:
1. Conduct risk based audits and prepare working papers in compliance with the Bank Audit manual
2. Review field work of subordinates on audit assignment and ensure quality audit work papers in compliance with the Bank Audit manual
3. Prepare draft audit reports for review by assignment Manager in line with the Bank Audit manual
4. Review monthly and quarterly Bank's returns to Bank of Uganda as per the Bank's policies and procedures
5. Perform special investigations as may be requested in line with the Bank's policies and procedures
6. Supervise staff on audit assignments and develop staff in line with policy and training needs.


Job requirement

Suitable candidate for this post should have:
• An Honors Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or any other relevant field from a recognized University
• At least final stage of Professional Qualification such as, ACCA, CPA or relevant field is a must.


Required competences and experience:
• At least 3 years Auditing experience in a financial Institution
• Experience in External Audit of financial institutions is an added advantage
• Good communication and Interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills
• High degree of integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to manage several deliverables in a timely and effective manner
• Excellent knowledge of Banking Practices
