JOB TITLE: HIV PREVENTION OFFICER
The Uganda AIDS Commission was established by Statute of Parliament in February 1992 to coordinate HIV/AIDS issues in Uganda. It is an organisation with a vision of a population free of HIV/AIDS and its effects; and a mission to provide the overall leadership in the coordination and management of the HIV/AIDS National Response. The Commission seeks to recruit highly skilled, experienced and motivated persons to fill the following positions.
Reports to: Coordinator, HIV Prevention Purpose of the Job
To strengthen the capacity at Uganda AIDS Commission to coordinate a comprehensive national HIV prevention response. The dynamics and multi-sectoral nature of prevention interventions require strong central coordination to ensure quick access to strategic information; shared perspectives on common issues for harmonized efforts; consensus on appropriate policies and programme approaches; monitoring impact of interventions; and sharing the lessons learned at different levels. Supported by a core technical working group and with input from different stakeholders, the Coordinator HIV Prevention will serve as the focal point for all HIV prevention related policy and programming at national level.
