Job Title: Regional Pharmacy Manager(3 Posts)
Job summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the operations of the regional pharmacy are run in a professional manner under the guidelines of the pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) and National Drug Authority (NDA). The job holder is the lead person for NDA follow-up activities, and services as a technical adviser on pharmaceutical matters pertaining to the wholesale pharmacy operations.
This position requires a person who has technical competencies in managing a pharmaceutical wholesale business. The person should have the capacity to work under minimum supervision, be proactive, and institute innovative sustainable interventions, and resiliently work to fulfill the organization's goals, while upholding our core values.
Essential Job Functions
The regional pharmacy manager will be specifically responsible for the following tasks:-
Liaise with Director product Facility, suppliers of pharmaceutical products on all technical matters that affect the smooth functioning of the wholesale business
Ensure that the daily operations at the pharmacy are carried under the guidelines of NDA and acceptable standards of pharmacy practice.
Ensure that all reference books, and books for record keeping including prescription books, order books, dangerous drugs register, expiry drug register etc.required by NDA are maintained and updated at the pharmacy premises.
Undertake activities involving provision of technical support,interpreting prescriptions, counseling of patients, dispensing of pharmaceutical products and devices to patients.
Ensure that storage conditions of phermaceutical products at the premises comform to the required standards at all times, including narcotics, OTC's, Class A and B drugs.
Minimum Qualification
A bachelors degree in Pharmacy. Post Graduate qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, CIM, or their equivalent in related fields is an added advantage. At least one year experience in performing related work in a wholesale pharmacy business. Working knowledge of the guidelines and regulations of the pharmaceutical society of Uganda (PSU) and National Drug Authority (NDA)
