IT Support Officer Jobs at Uganda Telecom

Job Title: IT SUPPORT OFFICER
Reporting to: IT Service Desk Administrator

Applicants must have:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related area.
Certification in MSCE, CCNA, CCNP, A+
Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows and UNIX/LINUX)
Knowledge in Blade Technology
Microsoft Back Office Products (exchange, SharePoint portal)
2 Years’ experience in PC/network /Desktop Support in an enterprise sized environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

To offer excellent IT support within the agree time frame to ensure efficient utilization of IT services.
To offer PC desktop support for Windows operating systems(9x, NT 4, 2000, XP, Vista, 7)
To install NT Desktops & laptops and desktop repairs
To set up new PC’s, new accounts and training users at all levels
To offer in house database support for users
To offer Web mail support to users
To transfer both PC workstation hardware and software as advised
To carry out both hardware and software upgrade and troubleshooting where necessary
To liaise with the Systems Administrators and other Network Administrators to guarantee efficient system operations, implementation of software patches, and seamless insertion of new technology into the operational baseline
To carry out routine preventive maintenance according to agreed schedules
To secure company data when doing migration of users or on the process of replacing failed/crushed HDD
Automation of troubleshooting
