Bank Of Uganda (BOU) Jobs- Principal Banking Officer Vacancy

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position in the Office of Legal Affairs.

1) Title : Principal Banking Officer (Contract Preparation and Administration)
2) Rank: Principal Banking Officer
3) Reports to: Assistant/Deputy Legal Counsel

4) Job Specifications:
The Officer shall be responsible for: Providing legal advisory services on the Bank’s capital and procurement projects. Participating in the review of project documents and preparation of contracts in respect of Bank projects and other matters. Advising on payment systems matters. Follow-up on matters under litigation and prepare requisite briefs. Preparation and registration of mortgages for the Bank’s staff Building Loan Scheme. Providing legal advice on general administration issues. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

(1) Person Specifications:
Qualifications: A First Class or Upper Second Class University degree in law and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. A Masters degree in law (preferably in Commercial and Corporate law) will be an added advantage. Must have been enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda for at least three (3) years.

Should be computer literate.
(2) Experience:
Should have five years of practical experience in a busy commercial law firm or a legal department of a commercial entity.

(3) Age : 28 – 35 Years

(4) Salary and Benefits: The position attracts a competitive remuneration package.
