Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strengthening the initiation of quality Assurance strategy by;
• Sensitizing and training UMI teaching and non-teaching staff on the Quality Assurance Strategy
• Closely working with UMI departments/ Units in the development of Quality Assurance benchmarks
• Ensuring implementation of the quality assurance policy and measures
• Monitoring and evaluating the Quality Assurance strategies.
• Developing a UMI quality Assurance framework and handbook
Enforcing the implementation of the National Council of Higher Education Guidelines by:
• Reviewing current and proposed training programs in line with the NCHE guidelines
• Conducting routine and continuous checking of institute services and policies to ensure compliance with practice, standards, policy legislation, regulations and guidelines
Undertaking data analysis and research by:
• Conducting Quality Assurance reviews of the services and policies with in the institute and recommending to the unit how standards of services can be improved
• Conducting audits of services for which there is need to improve standards as measured by performance indicators and making recommendations to the Unit about how performance can be improved
Person Specifications:
• A Masters Degree in Education in any of the following specialties: Curriculum Studies, Education Monitoring and evaluation, education policy and planning
• An honors degree in Arts/ Science with Education
• Professional qualification in relevant field will be of added advantage
• Teaching experience in a higher education institution for at least five years is required
• Applicants are required to have day to day experience in the following areas: Quality Assurance reviews, auditing, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services in a higher education Institution
