Job Title: Consultant in distance learning

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, and deploying educational resources for distance learning access such as conducting courses via video conferencing over the internet, networking, and webcasting
• Re-examining the programs on offer in the department to ensure that they answer to the challenges spelt out in the strategic plan
• Marketing UMI training programmes including distributing distance learning course offerings, schedules and web sites where they can be accessed
Administrative duties:
• Ensuring provision of technical or logistical support/ plans to distance learning including remote web based classrooms, online chat channels for participatory sessions and on-line exams
• Communicating to participants and change or updates to distance learning courses and materials

Person Specifications:
• Masters Degree in Distance learning or a related field
• An honors degree in education or related field
• At least 2 years’ teaching in a University or other institutions of higher learning will be an added advantage but those with substantial managerial experience in distance learning will be considered
• IT relevant qualification such as e-learning is an added advantage
