Job Title: Database Technician
Reporting: Planning, Monitoring and Budgeting Officer through Data Base Management Officer

Job Purpose: the overall objective of the assignment is to support NAADS Secretariat in development and design of database strategies, generating data capture formats, analyze and summarize of datasets, which are useful in decision making as well as information to NAADS stakeholders, including facts and figure(s) and internal management reports

Functions:
• Assist in identifying MIS needs, support joint strategies and develop and maintain appropriate databases, database applications, database interface functions (data entry forms and reports) and products
• Assist in, gathering and incorporating external datasets in the NAADS data repository;
• Assist in maintaining and expanding the NAADS MIS data repository and related meta database(s)
• Compile, sort, extract and verify accuracy of data collected from districts and secretariat reports
• Support the other NAADS departments working with database applications and provide general support to MIS skills and capacity development for users

Qualifications and Experience:
• University degree in any of the following, Statistics/ Applied economics with relevant training on database management and M&E systems
• Wide knowledge of developing data collection instruments as well as translating activities within the logical framework into data requirements
• Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of developing database developmet, particularly in MS Access and SQL, ideally also with VB.
