Job Title: Head internal Audit
Reports to: The Authority (Board)

Job Purpose:
To provide independent and objective assurance services that will add value by improving efficiency and effectiveness in ERA’s operations

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop risk universe that identifies risks and priorities audit interventions to optimize resource usage and present this to the authority for approval. The scope should cover the following among others
• Review the authority’s risk and make appropriate recommendations
• Provide assurance to the authority that all controls and governance processes in ERA are managed effectively to enable the authority achieve it’s strategic objectives
• Carryout any other duties as may be assigned by the Authority

Competencies:
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
• Strong numeric, analytical, and financial skills
• Through grasp of standards, regulations, and best practices in auditing and accounting
• Competent in auditing or working with computerized accounting and enterprise systems

Key outputs:
• Quarterly comprehensive Audit reports to the authority
• Follow up implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans

Education & Training
• An honors Degree in commerce, Finance, business administration or financial economics
• A post graduate qualification in management finance or related discipline will be an added advantage
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in auditing
Previous audit work in corporate/ statutory bodies will be an added advantage
Age: applicant will be above 30 years of age
