Hima is looking to fill the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer as per summary below;

Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Direct Reports: Mechanical Foremen

Location: Kasese – Uganda
Department: Maintenance
Scope: All plant operations.
Reports to: mechanical Engineer
Plant Characteristics: Material Conveyors, Crushers, Mills, Kilns and Packers.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Enforces regulations regarding safety, health and welfare of the team.
Responsible for the execution of the mechanical maintenance work carried out on equipment.
Develops working methods in his field: defines procedures & ensures that they are implemented.
Contributes to the preparation of the annual mechanical maintenance budget.
Ensures proper scheduling, planning of works and resources and execution; Work very closely with plant departments and sections for effective co-ordination of maintenance programs.
Provides on the spot guidance as required, develops skills, trains, motivates, carries out coaching and performance appraisal of the employees in the section.
Facilitates communications and relationships – conducts department meetings regularly, conveys management policies to the subordinates, and communicates results to the management.
Keeps himself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure on-call duty.

Requirement:

We are looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic individual who must have the following:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least 4 years experience working in ” a busy industrial environment”.
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
In-depth knowledge of practical mechanical operations and diagnosis.
Strong problem-solving, trouble-shooting skills and hands-on experience.
Working knowledge of predictive maintenance practices, inspection tools and computer based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
IT literacy and reporting skills.
